AFRICAN CHILD FUND ("ACF") is an independent, indigenous, non-political, non-governmental organization with a primary mission to provide education to poor, disadvantaged and neglected orphans in Kenya whose parents have died of HIV/AIDS and to help their families to overcome poverty and hopelessness through the initiation of sustainable income generating projects.

African Child Fund is motivated to serve Kenya's poor in spirit, body and mind --- orphans, vulnerable children and women. We accomplish this through the provision of medical care, affection & love, a sense of family, and the opportunity for a higher quality of life; to tangibly combat the global pandemic of HIV/AIDS and famine that confronts these children orphaned by AIDS with prayer, financial gifts and dedicated hands-on involvement.

Director and Founder of ACF, Father Henry Simaro knows Kenya's daily struggle against hopelessness and despair. Rescued at age 17 by St. Patrick missionaries, young Henry was completely transformed through the provision of a safe haven, an education, and a spiritual foundation by the Kiltegan Father. In response to his experiences of God's unconditional love, Henry responded by the pursuit of a religious life including a life-long mission to care for orphaned children and women decimated by HIV/AIDS and poverty.

Every DAY 6,000 children are orphaned by AIDS. Worldwide, 15 million orphans are struggling to survive on their own --- with little hope of ever escaping poverty. This virulent epidemic has devastated an entire generation of children.

Father Henry was transformed by these experiences. He knows firsthand the difference that can be made one life at a time. He is working to give back exponentially what he has himself received.
